In a summary of a report prepared for the University Senate, Rutgers President Robert Barchi reviewed major accomplishments at the university during the first year of his presidency and previewed what to expect in the coming years.

In a 50-minute presentation to the Senate, President Barchi covered a number of initiatives, including:

• the university’s integration with most of the schools, centers and institutes that made up the former University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey;
• new and ongoing capital construction;
• recent appointments to top leadership positions; and
• the university’s emergency response procedures.
