Newark, NJ, April 16, 2007 Sills Cummis Epstein & Gross P.C. has selected Asha Abraham, a first-year student at Rutgers School of LawNewark, as the first Charles J. Walsh Scholar. Sills Cummis Epstein & Gross established the Scholar Fund on behalf of the family, friends and colleagues of the late Judge Charles J. Walsh who, prior to his appointment to the Superior Court of New Jersey, Bergen County, was a valued Member of the Firm for 17 years. Judge Walsh was also an adjunct professor at the law school.

Ms. Abraham was chosen for her academic promise, leadership qualities, interest in pursuing a career in complex litigation, and long-standing desire to be a lawyer. I have an intense sense of right and wrong and have always recognized that lawyers have a special ability to defend justice and change the world, she explained. I also feel that my law degree will help me to be actively engaged helping people in the community. Ms. Abraham graduated with highest honors from Rutgers College in May 2006 with a B.A. in psychology and political science and was elected to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

The Charles J. Walsh Scholar Fund will provide financial and other assistance to Ms. Abraham in the form of scholarship support, summer internship stipends, active mentorship during law school, and career guidance.
