NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Rutgers’ Center for European Studies (CES) will host its third European Union-New Jersey Business Forum, focusing on alternative energy, Thursday, Oct. 27, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development, 30 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick. CES is housed within the School of Arts and Sciences.

The forums are meant to raise awareness in the state’s business community of the European Union and of the potential for stronger EU-New Jersey trade, investment and R&D ties. The center is leading a coalition of partners, including the New Jersey Business Action Center – the state agency that provides important resources for growth and development to companies looking to do business globally – the European-American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey and Rutgers’ Heldrich Center to organize a series of forums emphasizing key industries. They are funded by a generous “Getting to Know Europe” grant from the Delegation of the European Union to the United States in Washington, D.C.

The gathering will explore trans-Atlantic ties in the alternative energy industry and will examine recent regulatory developments in New Jersey and the EU affecting the industry on both sides of the Atlantic. The forum will feature two panel discussions among business leaders and public officials and will conclude with keynote address by Andrew Moravcsik, professor of political science and director of the European Union Program at Princeton University.

Breakfast, refreshments and lunch will be provided. There is no fee to attend, but registration is required and space is limited. Please register using the following link:  http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RutgersEnergyForum. Questions may be directed to gtke@europe.rutgers.edu.
