BACKGROUND: | Well into the Obama administration’s first term, Americans of all stripes are asking, demanding, “Where are the jobs?” Versions of the Occupy Wall Street movement have spread across the country and have even gone international but in many instances, protesters’ demands and ultimate goals are unclear. Mortgage rates are at historic lows yet banks, many bailed out by the public, remain quite tight-fisted when it comes to making loans. Experts from Rutgers will try to bring some clarity to the muddied economic picture. They remind you, however, they are only the messengers, so please check your angst at the sign-in table. |
